Τhe mission of the Immunity and Inflammation Program is to advance knowledge on complex immunological diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, pulmonary diseases, multiple sclerosis and cancer using a variety of approaches including transgenesis, biochemistry, imaging, computational modelling and systems-level profiling. Researchers at the Program focus on the development of animal models to dissect the molecular and cellular mechanisms that underlie disease pathogenesis, aiming at the establishment of innovative translational platforms for the discovery and validation of novel therapeutics and biomarkers.
