This work provides insight into the cell specificity of MK2’s function in colorectal cancer, reveals its important role in intestinal mesenchymal cells, provides a novel mechanism of function through the regulation of epithelial proliferation via downstream Hsp27-mediated secretion of protumorigenic mediators and demonstrates the value of MK2 inhibition in the treatment of cancer.
