The Transgenic Facility of the B.S.R.C. “Alexander Fleming” (www.fleming.gr/tggt) is a state-of-the-art facility for the generation, archiving and cryopreservation of transgenic mice localized in Vari, Greece; it also acts as the Hellenic partner of the European Mouse Mutant Archive EMMA). The facility has an immediate opening for an experienced microinjectionist skilled in transgenic methodologies to support its pronuclear and blastocyst injection services under InfrafrontierGR: the Greek Research Infrastructure for phenotyping and archiving of model mammalian genomes*.
The successful applicant will perform all the day-to-day processes necessary for the creation of genetically modified mice including embryo collection, DNA and ES cell microinjection, embryo transfer, animal care, detailed record keeping and project management.
Applicants are expected to have a degree in biological sciences; a proven record in mouse microinjection technologies; proficient knowledge of the English language; ability to maintain flexible working hours as required.
